Description
An entry for a contest on the german "Warriors"-Forum.
I have to draw a ... landscape? after a description in a book. I chose the Scene, when the Dwarves in the "Hobbit" walk into Mirkwood.
The entrance to the path was like a sort of arch leading into a gloomy tunnel made by two great trees that leaned together, too old an strangeld with ivy and hung with lichen to bear more than a few blackened leaves. The path itself was narrow and wound in and out among the trunks. Soon the light at the gate was a little bright hole far behind, and the quiet was so deep that their feets seemedto thump along while all the trees leaned over them and listened.

I draw the things I had marked bold in the text.
I tried something new out, with a "chalk-brush" only. Looks little bit strange, but who cares? Was funny drawing it.
Made a new one. Not only with chalk now, I used other brushes, too and you can see more in the picture. The old was creepy and awful.

Die Stimmung in dem Bild ist toll. Dass alles so grob und einfach aussieht gibt 'ne tolle Atmosphäre. Ich finde auch, dass du das mit dem Schatten und Lichteinfall super hinbekommen hast. (:
